 | 02:39 am - Twilight I declare the Twilight movie completely and utterly CRACKTASTIC. It's like someone took the book (Catherine, is that you?), faults included, and dumped it in its entirety onto a ginormous screen for maximum Edward viewage. Every character was given the love they deserve from us. Just wish we could have seen more of the family, but that comes later :D
So go see it this weekend. Contribute to the numbers so we can have our New Moon fix as well.
... but I just really want to see how they're going to pull off Breaking Dawn. THAT will be a true catastrophe.
Quality of the book = quality of the movie. You'll be addicted in a nanosecond. AKA the moment the Cullens breeze through the door. Or, in my case, the moment you realize that they've done Charlie right. Current Location: couch couch couch Current Mood: giddy Current Music: I hear Bella's Lullaby in my BRAIN

 | 01:40 pm - The (review) Nuggets
Nick and Norah: Not quite deep enough to be profound, not quite funny enough to be memorable. An unimportant, wannabe cousin to the Judd Apatow/Seth Rogan/etc. franchise. Earns a Cute, but overall Meh from me.
Body of Lies: intense. Whether true or not, it at least attempts a sort of gritty realism. It's very, very good, but also has the ability to make you wince because, well, you just weren't actually expecting to see someone's finger get smashed off. Brilliantly acted and pulled off, I give it an Ouch and a Woooooow.
The Dutchess: If you like Elizabeth and Marie Antoinette, you will love this movie. Well... if you like any period drama, you'll love this movie. As a big fan of Ralph FIennes, I was drawn to the humanity that he brought to a character who ultimately is the whole reason that the movie is a drama. Keira Knightley was... Keira Knightley, and the guy who played her lover (Dominic Cooper) should never ever wear a wig like that again. He was better playing Head Shirtless Dude in Mamma Mia, but did a pretty decent job as proper Englishman Charles Grey in Dutchess. I give it all a Love It Tragically.
Eagle Eye: Shia LaBeouf is the most awesome up-and-comer EVER. Also, has great performances by Billy Bob Thornton and Michael Chiklis (that guy from The Shield and Fantastic Four), and solid freaked out!mom from Michelle Monaghan, though I felt Rosario Dawson fell surprisingly flat. Oh, and there's this one scene that makes you go "omg Michael Chiklis is SHORT!" Watch. You'll know it when you see it. I give it an OMGLOVEITSEEITSEEITSEEIT!!! P. S. Is anyone else weirded out by Billy Bob's teeth? Also, am I the only person who gets excited when I see Ethan Embry in anything?
High School Musical 3: NOTE: I have not seen this whole movie. Only about half on my breaks. That being said... Keeping in mind that it's incredibly corny and made for kids, this looks cute and innocently good. The first 30 minutes that I saw just made me happy :) And that's coming from someone who really didn't like the first two High School Musicals.
Zack and Miri Make a Porno: Not quite classic Kevin Smith, sadly, but still pretty funny. Unfortunately the porn scenes were the weak point, though there was quite a bit of humor attached to them. The best part of the entire movie was Justin Long's cameo. Fan-freaking-tastic. Keep in mind that they're serious about the porn, that this movie barely escaped an NC-17 rating, and that this is coming from the same guy that gave us boned-a-dead-guy-by-mistake in Clerks. So... yeah. Pretty Darn Hilarious with a Good Dose of Filthy and Forced.

Coming This Month
Nov. 7 -- Madagascar 2 (I'm so sick of the advertising for this movie. The first one was mildly funny, but overall not memorable. That hardly warrants a second one), Role Models (love Paul Rudd, the kids look hilarious... definitely not groundbreaking, but worthy of interest until proven horrible), and Soul Men (poor Bernie Mac. Even worse, it's bound to be awful).
Nov. 14 -- BondBondBondBond aka Quantum of Solace 'nuff said go see it!
Nov. 21 -- Twilight. Y'all, I'm saying this because I want to see the sequels. This movie is probably pretty bad (though my opinion has gone up since purchasing the soundtrack yesterday), given that it is based on the book. But there are gorgeous people with superpowers and a dark side. Also, it's like crack and frankly kind of orgasmic. So go see it so we can see Jacob Black complete the gang of pretty people when he gets snarky and all ripped out. Current Location: couch Current Mood: accomplished Current Music: Sunshine soundtrack

 | 02:13 am - Swohnny Todd
I've been chomping at the bit to get out to see Sweeney Todd. Not only for Johnny Depp (the fact that he's the hottest man alive is pretty much the least important thing about him. The man can act), but for Helena Bonham-Carter and Alan Rickman and the Tim Burton cinematography and the crazy story and to see an actual musical in a theater again. In other news, I figured out which America's Next Top Model girl the girl in my self defense class thought I looked exactly like. I've also realized that I definitely haven't seen Cycle 5, because I have no clue who these girls are. But anyway. I look like Jayla. Yes. Nice.
Current Location: my desk (at home) for once Current Mood: inspired Current Music: listening to antm c05 e06 part 5

 | 02:25 am - Vid Plan So I've started working on my next video. So far it consists mostly of designing the concept and mapping out the timeline based on the song I've chosen ("Twist of the Magi" by Rascal Flatts and SheDaisy). I'm pretty excited about this one... it will again be a Doctor Who vid, but this one will be slower and more reverent. Reverant? I dunno.
Anyway, I hope to get started on the clips and compiling the video tomorrow. It should be finished by Sunday. WOOT!
I'll see you in a few days with a new video!! YEY! *claps*
Oh, and P.S. I got all my grades back, and there's not one C in sight. :D *squee!* 2 B's, 2 B+'s, and 1 marvelous A+. Oh the cleverness of me! Current Location: nice ol' comfy home couch Current Mood: motivated Current Music: whatever creepy soundtrack Final Destination's got

 | 01:33 pm - First Fan Video ever! Risa finally explained how to use xmpeg (well... she explained before and I lost the instructions), so I spent many an hour last night putting together My First Fan Video. It's an opening to Doctor Who (quite the longest opening in history, actually) that's set to the Austin Powers intro. I'm ridiculously proud of it, even though some of the clips do run a bit long. But they all fit, and I now know how to do it, so I'm sure you'll be seeing MANY more videos very soon. :D
You can find the video here if the following does not work.
